Hi…is the following fair to assume based on the new moisture “word” targets vs previously “numbered” targets ?

WET+ = 90% - 100%

WET = 80% - 89%

MOIST+ = 70% - 79%

MOIST = 60% - 69%

DRY+ = 50% - 59%

DRY = 0% - 49%

Hi @piratemonkey -

We’re in the middle of updating the User Guide, and will be releasing something really soon.

In the mean time, there are two parts needed to answer your question:

**1. First, the mapping from percentage to soil description depends on your soil type**

Please see the following table from the User Guide we published last October (Link: [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MJF9Z20rlbjwNJOVSFqqms82c7Sr-Qy3/view](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MJF9Z20rlbjwNJOVSFqqms82c7Sr-Qy3/view) ), that maps these moisture readings to approximate percentages, depending on your soil type:

 ![image](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex011/uploads/geodrops/original/1X/482efa8414a27fc257453a1571497be6bb9793d6.png)
 ![image](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex011/uploads/geodrops/original/1X/d1acc19b698a4639f3395ca87a6e4e5767041058.png)

**2. Second, how to look up the exact mapping to your soil**

_ **Warning** _: _GeoDrops AI’s ability to detect and auto-map soil moisture adjective to percentages is currently a BETA feature that we’re actively working on finishing up, but we want to get this out to everyone early, as we expect to finalize the AI model for this within a month or so._

The latest App we have released recently is currently missing this feature, as we couldn’t make the cut in time, but we’ll include it in the next release. (Tagging @homedigy-leon who is working on this)

In the meantime, you can use the GeoDrops Public Dashboard (Link: [https://geodrops-dash.homedigy.com/](https://geodrops-dash.homedigy.com/) ) to check how the Moisture Adjective maps to actual percentages for your exact soil profile. Here is an example for a random device I’ve picked:

 ![image](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex011/uploads/geodrops/original/1X/8efe71a6e5df23127ba91dca4dbdfa81721c82d2.jpeg)

So as you can see for the above examples, the “Moisture Index” value has dropped from “4” to “2”. The integer value mapping works as follows:

- 5 = Very Wet (At or Near Field Capacity)
- 4 = Wet
- 3 = Slight Wet (or Moisture+)
- 2 = Moisture
- 1 = Slight Dry (or Dry+) (or Near _typical_ Permanent Wilting Point)
- 0 = Dry (At or Below _typical_ Permanent Wilting Point)
- -1 = Unknown (GeoDrops AI cannot process or track your Soil Profile, so only RAW Moisture Values are reported)

Please let me know if this helps.

Thanks!
Lawrence
