New install this late in the season?

I’m just joining the community and look forward to learning and gathering data for my lawn. Once I placed my order two hours later I get shipping notification. That’s fast.

My question is should I install them now or wait until Spring? It might be nice to install them, let them learn, adjust and me watch data. I’m in North Ala (7b) so I won’t be watering, but could watch and follow rainfall results.

Hi @ebelew ,

I don’t know how useful it would be to guide watering in Northern Alabama given the installation timing, but you can most certainly leave the units in the ground given prolonged periods of below freezing temperatures are unlikely. Installation would actually help us collect more data to further refine our soil physics model faster.

Hope this helps,

Thanks, I’m not looking for useful info until after March, but letting it learn and me understand what it is showing me (and making adjustments) could help. Plus if it helps you guys collect more data, I’m good.

I’ll start the install when I get them.

Thanks

E
