Yesterday my reading was moist. There was no rain and my sprinklers did not turn on. But this morning I got a ready of wet and that it rained at midnight ? Any ideas ? Thanks for any advice
Hi @lemlattimer ,
Can you please provide the serial number before I flag engineering to further investigate this?

Thanks @lemlattimer . I have flagged this for engineering to review. However, given the deadlines for initial irrigation controller support, it may take them longer to look into this.

Ok, thanks for following up.
Also not sure if there is another thread on this already, but will you be including Rachio with your irrigation support ? Which I have to say is an excellent cheap product.
Hi @lemlattimer - I just took a look at your device (see screenshot below).
Yup, based on the weather data recorded in public Weather Forecast and Weather history sources, there’s indeed “no rain” at around Aug 26 at 12am UTC. Your sensor install is very good, and the sensor is reporting very solid readings. So this moisture increase is indeed real!!
Unfortunately, I think your guess is as good as mine as to what cause this moisture increase. Maybe there’s a small rain event overnight that the public weather stations have missed? It’s also possible something else caused your soil to be wet?
Lastly to answer your other question, yes we’re very close to having the initial irrigation system support done via IFTTT (we’re currently going through heavy internal testing right now trying to squash as many bugs as possible). After IFTTT, we’re considering a more native integration with Rachio (so user’s don’t have to rely on a middleman service like IFTTT).
Please let me know if this helps?
Thanks,
Lawrence
Native integration with Rachio would be awesome.
Thanks for your reply. Just want to say loving your product, probably using my sprinklers 50% less than I used to! Very bizarre as to why it reported a rain event. I pay close attention to garden as I work remotely and Im home every day and obsessed with my grass and garden. Nothing else was wet in my garden? I guess it’s possible we had a light shower. I will keep my eye on it.
Hi @lemlattimer ,
I just want to check if your problem is resolved, or if you need more help with this.

Thanks for checking in. It hasn’t happened again and everything seems normal.
Thanks @lemlattimer . In this case, I’ll close it.
