BETA unit not recognized as legitimate

I have a 2023 BETA unit that has been out of the ground over the winter.

Today, I prepared to put it back into the ground, with a new gasket and fresh batteries. I started the process, connected to my Wi-Fi, and then waited for the cloud connection. That’s when I got the message that this unit might not be legit, and I should contact Customer Support.

So this is my contact to customer support. The serial number of this BETA unit is 333HGC, manufactured on May 25, 2023.

For the record, this is not the first time I’ve gotten a message that one of my units is not legit. This 2023 BETA unit and another 2023 first production unit have gotten this message. When that first happened, an explanation was offered and I was assured this issue would be fixed and not happen again.

Now I wait to see how long it takes to fix this so I can use this device.

Hi @mg.marsha.lehman ,

I apologize for the frustration. This alert is a remnant of a registration bug that has since been patched. To apply that fix to your specific unit, the system requires a manual refresh of the device identity.

Please remove the device from your app and re-add it to force a fresh sync. As a reminder, please ensure you are connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band during the re-pairing process.

I have included the setup steps below for reference.

Hi @mg.marsha.lehman ,

Glad to hear that “not legitimate” flag is cleared and the unit is reporting as expected. Since we’ve confirmed the fix over our email thread, I’ll go ahead and close this post to keep the forum organized.
