Just wondering is this reading right? Where it’s high on top and high on the bottom and low in the middle.
Hi Andre,
Would you kindly provide the serial number? I’d like to take a look at when this started learning the soil profile.
Thanks,

The serial number is 335LDS.

Hi Andre. I believe the values should be improving. Is the app still showing those values? If so, please do a pull down on the device list screen to refresh the app. If it still doesn’t refresh, please let us know as we have had a couple of instances of the app not refreshing correctly.
For your interest this is what the soil moisture looked like in the beginning. This was normal as the soil needed to settle after the device was inserted to form proper contact with the probes. If the device was not installed properly you would usually get a message from the app a few days to ask to you to reinstall the sensor.
The grey line is the processed moisture value. The darker the grey , the more shallow the depth.
Hi Andre,
Thanks for posting this great question. I was able to take a look at your device yesterday. Please let me know if this helps. Happy to keep following up on this:
Device 335LDS: Inverted reading between soil depths.
- Yes, you’re correct that the reading is wrong. We’re still adding more capabilities in GeoDrops AI to better make decisions and help guide people regarding soil installation.
- What you’re seeing is that the entire middle sections of the sensor probe are actually in poor contact with the soil. Can you following the installation tips in my post (see link here)? We forgot to mention in the installation procedure to NOT install into the same soil spot repeatedly
- The problem with loose middle-depth soil is most commonly seen when people install the device into the same spot more than once.
- In extremely rare cases, there could be foreign objects in the middle area of the probe. Although your device looks a lot more like poor/loose install and not foreign object.
Cheers,
Lawrence
