Question on update frequency

Are you able to share what normal operations should look like for a healthy device, specifically around lag time between updates from the device.

Last week I was getting a few slow update errors, where my device had not seen updates in 6-8 hours, the error message hinted at internet reliability.

I have two devices and it felt strange one updated several times and one struggled for 8~ hours. Both seem to have stable WIFI.

What is normal, should they be updating at least hourly or every 4, or?

What could one do to diagnose slow updates? Past few days have been good, only seems max 3-4 hours lag periodically. (334KN9 / 336MJF).

I’m getting in my groove, getting into what’s normal and fine tuning my watering life! Woohoo.

I’ll flag the engineering team on this. On that note, for the device encountering this problem, can you include the screenshots of the Wi-Fi signal strength? (see screenshots of capturing such screenshot below)

I have reviewed your device. It does seem to have some occasional misses, but over all it is functioning normally and everything is up to date. GeoDrops update with the server every 3 hours for data and 6 hours for other status. Please let us know if you see any more issues.

Does your wifi network use repeaters or extenders? Sometimes that seems to causes occasional connection misses.

Yes I do use a repeater, I have an Asus router and Asus repeater. Oddly the device closest had the worst results. I have one a static IP as a random test so I could monitor it easier and since then I haven’t noticed it go beyond your guidance.
