Device 335WFW. Battery level down to 3% on 3/28/26, thus removed device from soil, opened battery case and removed batteries. Measured battery voltage with multimeter, 1.14 volts compared well with device voltage reading on app at 1.04 V. Battery compartment looked clean and dry. Followed new o-ring maintenance instructions, including 24-hour dry time. On 3/29/26, installed new batteries, reused o-ring as no damage was found, greased with provided silicone grease per instructions. After installing batteries, relocated device to new location using “move device” instructions. After several hours in new location, the only data updating in the app was surface temperature. As of 3/30/26, still no moisture data showing in app. I do see surface temperature and battery voltage, but no moisture data. Any suggestions on what to do next?
Hi @kramekooc ,
Thanks for sending the details. I just wanted to clarify if you have also referred to this FAQ.
The symptoms you mentioned appear to be related to moisture ingress (which may be in places not visible). If the place the Droplet was drying in wasn’t warm enough, it likely needed to be dried for 48 hours or longer.
It would be helpful to learn about this detail along with seeing some photos before we determine the next steps.
Thanks,

Hi @kramekooc ,
Also, I just wanted to add after discussing with engineering is that the lack of moisture data reporting that we’re still working on resolving for the new release.

Hi @kramekooc
I have taken a look at the device. This is not related to moisture. We are still in the process of upgrading the data analytics and this is an unique bug. This should be fixed by tomorrow. No action needs to be taken at the moment. Thanks for helping us catch this!
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience

Hi Al and Stanley,
Thanks for the quick reply! I’ll continue to monitor this device and wait for the fix Al mentioned.
Once the issue that Al mentioned earlier was fixed, this device did start showing soil moisture content. It was in the training mode for a few days, and now has been showing disabled for the past several days. It has been about 10 days since I replaced the batteries and reinstalled it into the soil. Is it still learning the soil profile in its new location or is there another issue I need to address?
Hi @kramekooc, thanks for the update.
We will look further into why your device is showing as disabled later today and follow up as soon as we have more information.

Hi @kramekooc ,
It looks like the ‘disabled’ status is due to poor contact between the sensor and the soil (likely air pockets around the probes).
Since you just reinstalled it, we recommend waiting a few more days for the soil to settle naturally. Reinstalling again too soon can actually “reset the clock” on the system’s learning period. If the status doesn’t change by then, you may want to relocate the sensor to a spot with firmer soil.
We are also releasing an app update very soon that will provide much clearer explanations for these statuses directly in the dashboard.

Hi @kramekooc,
Checking in to see if the status has cleared now that the soil has had time to settle. If it is still showing as “disabled,” try relocating the sensor and ensuring the soil is pressed firmly against the probes to eliminate any remaining air gaps.
Please let us know if the moisture readings have resumed.

Hi Stanley,
A day or two after your last response, I got an app notification to set max moisture on this device. We had had over four inches of rain in the past five days so the soil was (and still is) well soaked. I did a finger test on the soil around this device, it was indeed well soaked, so I pushed the set max soil button. A few hours later the disabled notification disappeared and the device started reporting soil moisture content. It appears to be working correctly now.
Incidentally, I had two other devices reporting disabled for the past several days. Because pushing set max moisture button seemed to work for this device, I did the same on those two devices yesterday. One of those devices is no longer showing disabled and appears to be working properly, and the other is no longer showing disabled, but the middle level moisture reading is still red on the app display (the shallow and deep readings appear to be ok). I will continue to monitor this last device and will open a new thread if the problem persists.
As for the device subject of this thread (335WFW), I believe the issue has been resolved and this thread can be closed.
Thanks for your help!
Hi @kramekooc ,
Thanks for keeping us posted on this. In this case, I will close this thread now. Please feel free to open another thread for the other issue as we’re working on refining GeoDrops Cloud as well (see GeoDrops Cloud, Spring 2026, Release Tracker).
