[Resolved] Data display problem on App Mar 26, 2026 (lasted 5 days)

We are currently experiencing an issue where data is not displaying correctly within the GeoDrops App (Mar 26th 2026 10:00pm UTC). This is impacting all users.

Our team has identified the cause and is actively working on a fix. Phase 1 of our system upgrade is complete, and all backend operations are now running on a new, improved system. Please be assured that this bug is strictly limited to the app’s display layer and your data is safe and continues to be processed normally on our servers.

We apologize for this inconvenience and will provide another update shortly. Thank you for your patience. Please stay tuned.

[Updated 2026-03-27 09:00 AM UTC] The Data display issue is resolved. However, recommendations and device status may not be always accurate at the moment.

[Updated 2026-03-31 08:45 AM UTC] The are still a small number of devices with data display issue. It is expected to be resolved within a day.

[Updated 2026-04-01 08:40 AM UTC] The moisture data display problem is resolved. However status updates and recommendations are still in progress.

The issue preventing moisture data from displaying correctly in the app has been resolved. However, we have identified a secondary compatibility issue with device status; the new system generates a significantly wider range of signals than the current app version supports.
A fix is in development and will be deployed tomorrow. All backend data processing remains 100% accurate and unaffected.

Hi folks - appreciate the updates as you make progress here.

Is it safe to assume that data flowing to Bigtable and Looker is also affected? My automated polling isn’t pulling back results any longer and in working with BigQuery to debug, it appears that the mfgSn, moisturePctDepthSmooth*, and dateLastWatered variables don’t exist in the dataset at this point. Not sure if this is part of the blast radius from the issues described above or expected changes due to the platform update.

If the latter, I’ll add a small feature request - would be great to be able to pull the firmware version from BigQuery along with the deviceID as I push this down as MQTT attributes.

Thanks!

Hi @Scythe

Thank you for your post. For the public dataset we expect it would be made available again by early next week. We have done a significant overhaul to our data science and as you have noticed some fields are no longer in use. We will update you guys with further details along with the release of the updated dataset.

Regarding the firmware version information, we are thinking of adding an other set of device information data table. Details should be confirmed later next week as well.

Sounds good - thanks for the quick response. I’m excited to see the improvements that you’ve cooked up over the winter.

Hi @Scythe

A quick update. We are still working through the release and we expect another 1 - 2 weeks before updating the public dashboard. There will also be new documentations regarding some significant changes to the generated data. The Release Update will track our progress.

Thank you for supporting us!
