One of my GeoDrop units has suddenly gone from wet to dry. I noticed this yesterday afternoon. I irrigated that zone in the morning, I do not believe just a few hours later it should read 47% at 1in, 58% at 2 in, 68% at 3 in. Serial Number 333XYP, Firmware vA2.02.r1. Should I recalibrate the unit?

Hi @jollick ,
Here is the response to your situation by @homedigy-lawrence:
Device 333XYP: The device is actually looking really good, very stable readings, and GeoDrops AI is working properly for your device.
- I’m actually curious, are you sure the soil location that this device is installed in is actually wet?
- I have double checked the Raw hardware readings. It’s very stable. No sign of loose soil at all.
- If you can help confirm that the soil is actually wet, and that this device is giving a false reading, then I would love to troubleshoot this with you further.
- In very rare cases, this could be defective hardware (Although based on all the device signals I’m seeing, it looks like the hardware is quite healthy as well).
- Please let me know, thanks!

Hope this helps,

I just watered the other unit 333WTJ and put it in calibrate mode. As it was behaving the same way. I have to locate 333XYP as the bermuda grass has grown over it.
Thanks for the update! Please keep up posted.
Lawrence
ps - even if grass had grown over it, the device should be measuring the real soil moisture though. ![]()

Hi, the soil analysis is complete, now I have to water them for the Set max moisture analysis. I should be able to complete that this week.
Hi @jollick ,
How is your sensor working out? Just reaching out to see if this thread can be closed.
Thanks,

Hi Stanley, Since I went through with the Relearn Soil Profile and Set Max Moisture procedures the 2 sensors seem to be accurate. I still have to take the batteries out of one and reset the WIFI to my extender due to the signal. I did rotate the unit so the antenna faces my home but it seems to fluctuate from good to weak. I am waiting for a little cooler weather to install the 4 new units.
Hi @jollick ,
Just circling back to see if you had a chance to install the units and see if this problem is still happening before closing the thread.

Hi Stanley, things seem better, I still have to change the WiFi. Hopefully soon. You can close it.
