I had an internet interruption and the day after 4 of the 5 devices went from learning to POOR READING in red font. See picture. This happened after they have been in learning mode for almost 2 weeks. They are still updating from the devices every few hours. The moisture reading may. E correct but questionable, but some of the ground temperatures as for sure way off. Is this normal? What should I do now?
The device serial numbers are
337F3H, 33686A, 334PBD, 336RQV, 3378SJ.
They are all showing POOR READING now
Hi @Lionelmoore7 ,
Your units are healthy and nearly finished with training. The red Poor Reading status is simply a prompt for your input.
Please open your app and check the messages for those specific serial numbers. You should see prompts asking for you to press “Set Max Moisture” at the alert message.
If you don’t see this option available, you can also “Set Max Moisture” this way.
Hope this helps,

Thank you Stanley
All 5 the devices now have a green bar on the left and they are working. I still have one question:
I am going to wait for GeoDrops to come up with a better (more automatic and easier to setup) interphase between my devices and my Rachio. In the mean time I am going to adjust my Rachio manually until I find the sweet spot based on data from my devices. It would be great if each device would send me a notification if the moisture in the ground reaches the target that I set,
Would you please send me step-by-step instructions how to set the target moisture form each device.
Please comment on the following. I have sandy soil for the most part and I would like to be notified when the moisture reaches 67% of max so that I can set the Rachio station duration and interval.
Thanks
Hi @Lionelmoore7 ,
Glad to hear the news about your devices. To answer your first question, I have included the following screenshots (please refer to [2025, Oct 3] Major GeoDrops Software Update for Soft-Launch for more details).
Regarding your moisture target, soil science varies quite a bit depending on the specific type of sand and your local climate. A 67 percent threshold sounds like a reasonable starting point, but you may want to use an AI chatbot or check with a local university extension for the Field Capacity of sandy soil in your area. This will help you find the “sweet spot” between keeping plants healthy and wasting water.
Hope this helps,
Stanley

Great , Thank you Stanley.
I can see where to set the target depth, but it I can not see where and how to set the target moisture where I would get a text when I need to water again
Hi @Lionelmoore7 ,
Apologies for the delayed response. Can you see if 3.3.3 of the Getting Started post answers your question?
Thanks,
